Meet the New CEO: Chan Yeng Kit

At 59, Chan brings a wealth of experience to the table. He joined the SPH Media board in March and has an impressive background, having chaired the Infocomm Media Development Authority for nine years. In a recent statement, Chan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead Singapore’s premier news organization, which has profoundly impacted the lives of many Singaporeans.

His extensive experience in the public sector, labour movement, and private sector positions him well to steer SPH Media through the evolving media landscape. Since 2019, Chan has been with the Ministry of Health, where he played a pivotal role in coordinating Covid-19 safe management measures. He also serves as the chairman of MOH Holdings and deputy chairman of the Central Provident Fund Board.

As Chan moves to SPH Media, Lai Wei Lin will take over as the new Permanent Secretary for Health on the same day. She will transition from her current roles in Transport Development and Finance, starting July 1.
