According to eyewitnesses, the assailant, a 68-year-old man known to frequent the coffee shop, was enraged after the cleaner cleared away his glass of beer while he was in the toilet two days prior. When he spotted the 77-year-old cleaner, he wasted no time in attacking him. Witnesses described how the man suddenly punched the cleaner, causing him to collapse. In a shocking display of violence, the attacker dragged the defenseless worker about 10 metres before continuing to kick and punch him in the face and stomach.

A staff member at the beverage stall attempted to intervene but was pushed away by the aggressor. Despite the efforts of several patrons to break up the fight, the assailant remained agitated and aggressive. After the altercation, the cleaner was promptly taken to the hospital, while the attacker was apprehended by the police.
