A 15-year old was among three people injured in a carpark accident at Yishun

Tragic Carpark Collision in Yishun Leaves Three Injured

On January 1, 2011, a serious incident unfolded in Yishun when a carpark collision resulted in injuries to two pedestrians and a driver. A video that surfaced showed a young girl lying beside a vehicle, visibly distressed and covered in blood. Nearby, a woman with blood streaming down her forehead was heard wailing, creating a haunting atmosphere. A baby was also spotted next to her, adding to the urgency of the situation.

Details of the Incident

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that they responded to an emergency call regarding an accident involving two cars, one motorcycle, and two pedestrians at Block 259 Yishun Street 22. The victims, a 64-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl, were transported to the hospital by a 31-year-old female driver. Thankfully, all three individuals were conscious at the time of the collision.

Witnesses believe that the driver, who may have been pregnant, accidentally accelerated too quickly, leading to the crash with a stationary vehicle. Unfortunately, the two pedestrians were caught in the chaos.

Ongoing Investigation

In a surprising twist, a knife was discovered on the floor near the counter, prompting the police to launch an investigation into its relevance to the incident. Just two weeks prior, another tragic car accident in Woodlands claimed the life of a young Singaporean man, leaving three others with serious injuries. Reports indicate that the victim was thrown through the windshield and fell from the fifth floor after flipping over a fence. The cause of that accident remains unclear.
