The family, including a career coach aged 42, is set to meet with Gojek representatives to discuss the matter further.
According to a report from AsiaOne, the elderly passenger, Vasanta, noted that the driver appeared older than his age. She suspects that heavy rain may have obstructed the driver’s view, leading him to mistakenly drive onto the sidewalk and into the pool.

Eyewitnesses have taken to social media to share videos and photos of the incident, which show the car partially submerged in the pool. One resident, Charlie Tan Liang Yu, posted a 17-second clip on TikTok, cheekily captioning it as “A new definition of carpooling.”
Tan recounted that the accident occurred around 9 PM during a downpour. He mentioned there was a pedestrian path leading to the pool, which the passenger had instructed the driver to take. A security guard had reportedly warned the driver that the area was not meant for vehicles. In an attempt to turn around, the driver inadvertently accelerated onto the grass, resulting in the car plunging into the pool.
