Exciting Changes for Public Transport: New Initiatives for GrabCar Users!
Have you ever struggled to fit your shopping bags or luggage into a GrabCar? Well, you’re in for a treat! The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is rolling out two exciting initiatives aimed at making public transport more inclusive for everyone in Singapore.
What’s New? Bigger Baggage Allowance!
Starting from the fourth quarter of this year, GrabCar users will enjoy a larger baggage allowance. The current limit of 60cm by 45cm will be increased to a generous 80cm by 50cm. This means more room for your shopping from Orchard Road or your luggage from a weekend getaway! The pilot programme will run for six months, giving you plenty of time to test it out.
Dedicated GrabCar Ranks at MRT Stations
In addition to the larger bag size, LTA is introducing dedicated GrabCar ranks at selected MRT stations. These ranks will be set up in areas where demand for private-hire cars is high. This trial will kick off at the end of September and will also last for six months. Imagine stepping off the MRT and having a GrabCar waiting just for you – how convenient is that?
Why This Matters to Singaporeans
These initiatives are fantastic news for GrabCar users. With the increased baggage allowance and dedicated ranks, public transport is becoming even more user-friendly. Whether you’re a busy professional or a kiasu shopper, these changes aim to make your travel experience smoother and more enjoyable.
