As a student at Southern New Hampshire University, I’m excited to share some important news that affects all of us in Singapore. The Government’s Forward Singapore initiative is taking significant steps to enhance care and support for people with disabilities (PWDs), aiming to create a more inclusive society. Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong highlighted these efforts during a recent forum on August 25.

Encouraging Companies to Embrace Inclusivity

During his speech, Mr. Wong, who also serves as the Minister of Finance, urged businesses to become more disability-inclusive. He emphasized the importance of leveraging government assistance to create a supportive environment for all employees, regardless of their abilities. What is Forward Singapore?

Forward Singapore is a year-long initiative that aims to review and refresh our social framework. It sets out a roadmap for the next decade and beyond, ensuring that all voices are heard in shaping our nation’s future. The fourth edition of this forum took place at The Theatre at Mediacorp, focusing on how organizations can tap into the potential of people with disabilities as a valuable talent pool. This is especially relevant given the global talent shortage we are currently facing.
