Five SPC Service Stations to Install DC Fast Chargers in 2023

New Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Now Open in Singapore

Exciting news for electric vehicle (EV) owners in Singapore! SP Group (SP) has teamed up with Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC) to roll out fast charging stations across the island. The first three stations are now up and running at SPC outlets in Thomson, Bukit Batok, and Sungei Tengah, making it easier than ever to charge your EV on the go.

Fast Charging Made Easy

The initial phase includes five charging stations, with plans for more in the future. The standout feature? The first public charging station with a powerful 150kW DC fast charger is located at Bukit Batok’s SPC station. This means that if you plug in your electric vehicle, it can charge in less than 15 minutes, depending on its capacity.

At the other locations—Ang Mo Kio Ave 1, Bukit Merah Link, Sumang Link, and Tampines Ave 4—each will host a 50kW fast-charging point. This rollout will continue throughout 2023, enhancing the EV charging landscape in Singapore.

Why This Matters for Singapore

Having a robust network of fast chargers is crucial as Singapore aims to become an EV-charging hub by the end of the next decade. Currently, SP boasts a high-speed public charging network with 636 points across 150 locations. With the addition of 10 more locations, EV owners can expect to charge their vehicles in 30 to 60 minutes, depending on battery capacity.

Convenient Charging Across the Island

Thanks to a recent tender awarded by the Land Transport Authority, SP is expanding its charging infrastructure to include up to 4,800 charging stations at Housing and Development Board (HDB) carparks in the east and north regions of Singapore. This means that electric vehicle owners will have even more options for convenient charging.

For those looking to charge their EVs, here are some key locations:

– **SPC Ang Mo Kio**: 1351 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1, Singapore 569977
– One 50kW DC fast charger with Type 2, CHAdeMo, and 2.0 standard connectors.

– **SPC Bukit Batok**:
– One 150kW fast charger with two 75kW charging stations.

– **SPC Bukit Merah**:
– One 50kW DC fast charger.
