Love Beyond Blood: A Heartwarming Wedding Story in Singapore
In a world where family often means blood relations, one employer has shown that family can also be chosen. This touching story unfolds in Singapore, where two employees found support and love in unexpected places.
Seven years ago, Jiang and her husband met while working at Teo Heng, a beloved family-run KTV spot. When they decided to tie the knot, they were taken aback by the soaring costs of a wedding. But their employer, Jackson Teo, stepped in with an incredible offer: he would cover all their wedding expenses!
Jiang, 31, expressed her disbelief in a recent interview, saying, “My mind is blank.” The couple was overwhelmed by their employer’s kindness, which brought them immense joy. While Zhuang has since left Teo Heng, Jiang continues to be part of the team, where she feels a strong sense of belonging.
For their wedding on September 1, Jiang enlisted Teo to help decorate the Teo Heng outlet at Katong Shopping Centre. Thanks to his generosity, they saved over $6,000, creating cherished memories they will hold dear forever.
Teo didn’t stop there. He took on the responsibility of arranging the decorations and buffet, which added up to over $1,000. “Teo Heng feels like our big family,” the couple shared, highlighting the warmth and love they’ve experienced in Singapore.
The wedding was a cozy affair, attended by more than 20 close friends and colleagues. So Soon Huat, the voluntary executive chair of Sian Chay Medical Institution, was also there to celebrate. Teo mentioned that he treated Jiang and her husband like a parent would, understanding the challenges of moving away from home and the difficulties faced by older generations.
