A shocking incident unfolded in the early hours of New Year’s Eve at Sentosa, where a man was charged for allegedly entering a female toilet and molesting a woman. Subramanian Muralimanogarjoshi, a 25-year-old Indian national, was arrested on Monday and now faces serious charges, including criminal trespass, outrage at modesty, and wrongful restraint.

The incident occurred around 2:15 AM when Muralimanogarjoshi reportedly entered the women’s toilet at Siloso Beach. Allegations state that he forced a woman into a cubicle and groped her. The situation escalated when a glass panel was broken, prompting nearby individuals to alert the police. Within two hours, officers from the Clementi Police Division apprehended Muralimanogarjoshi.
In his defense, he claimed he was simply out for a walk and did not realize he was trespassing. However, after a trial, he was sentenced to one day in jail and fined S$400.
Legal Consequences
Muralimanogarjoshi’s case has been adjourned until January 30. If convicted, he could face a maximum of three months in jail for criminal trespass, along with a fine of up to S$1,500. For the more serious charge of outrage at modesty, he could be sentenced to three to ten years in prison and possibly caning.
