Meet Uncle Raymond: The TikTok Star Taking Singapore by Storm!

First things first, Uncle Raymond is a real gem! With his cheeky grin and playful spirit, he lights up any room he walks into. Need a hand? He’s always ready to lend one. And when it’s time to party, you can bet he’s the first to show up, bringing the fun with him!

But who exactly is this Uncle Raymond? If you haven’t heard of him yet, you’re probably missing out on a viral sensation. Raymond Lim is a well-known TikTok star, easily spotted in his signature red polo shirt with black and white stripes and dark pants. You might have seen him dancing to the catchy remixed Faye Wong song, “Century of Loneliness.” Love him or hate him, Uncle Raymond and his hilarious parodies have taken social media by storm!

Tattoo Studio Joins the Uncle Raymond Craze

Recently, New Testament Tattoo Studio decided to hop on the Uncle Raymond bandwagon for their latest marketing campaign. They created a tattoo design featuring a simple outline of Uncle Raymond’s iconic bald head, complete with the words “Uncle Raymond” at the bottom. And guess what? They offered it for free to anyone who spotted it on the streets or followed them on social media!

The campaign kicked off on August 25th, but when Qiqil, the original creator of the viral Uncle Raymond voice-over, hit the streets, not a single person took up the offer. However, the response on TikTok was a different story, with many fans eager to get in on the action!

Despite the excitement, not everyone was a fan. One commenter bluntly stated, “Pay me, but I don’t want it.” Danny Ng from New Testament Tattoo Studio shared with AsiaOne that they were surprised by the interest. The lucky winner chosen for the tattoo was Janson Lim, a huge Uncle Raymond fan.

A Tattoo to Remember

On September 19th, the studio released a video showing three people getting inked. In one clip, Janson was in the tattoo parlor, and a voice exclaimed, “Somebody truly came down to do Uncle Raymond’s tattoo!” This design will be a permanent reminder of his fandom.

Uncle Raymond himself even chimed in on the fun, commenting, “Wow. They had no idea that you could play so well!” Janson later described the sensation of getting the tattoo as a light scratching, not painful at all.

Unfortunately, the studio clarified that they only did this for one person, but they’re open to creating other designs inspired by Uncle Raymond for paying customers. Mark your calendars, as their next flash event is set for Halloween!

Social Media’s Power in Action

This whole Uncle Raymond phenomenon is a testament to the incredible power of social media. It shows how quickly news can spread and connect people. Just like when a Singaporean found themselves stranded in Japan, social media played a crucial role in getting the word out, leading to help from the Singapore Embassy. It’s a reminder that platforms like TikTok can be more than just entertainment; they can also be a powerful tool for sharing important information and stories!
