Tan, 43, and her 10-year-old daughter were traveling from JB Sentral to Singapore Expo. Upon boarding, Tan encountered her first issue. She asked the driver if she could store her luggage in the bus’s compartment, but he refused and even shouted at them when they presented their e-tickets. With no other option, Tan had to lug her bags to the back of the bus.

When the bus reached Woodlands Checkpoint, Tan and her daughter waited for other passengers to disembark. As she stepped off, the driver abruptly slammed the doors shut, trapping her arm and causing her to drop her luggage. In a shocking turn of events, the driver drove off, causing Tan to fall onto the tarmac and roll over.

Tan’s daughter, terrified, cried out for help. “Please help my mum! Why did you drive off?” she pleaded, witnessing her mother in distress. Instead of assisting, the driver shouted, “You all get out already—why I cannot move? Not my problem!”

Aftermath and Injuries

Tan was left in pain on the ground, while passers-by and security staff rushed to help her. Despite trying to contact Transtar, the bus company, she received no response and ultimately called the police.

Tan later shared that her fall resulted in injuries to her shoulder, neck, shins, and spine. Although Khoo Teck Puat Hospital confirmed there were no broken bones, she described her body as feeling sore all over. Despite being given three days of medical leave, she is seeking a second opinion due to escalating pain.

Both mother and daughter are now traumatized, feeling anxious about taking buses in the future. Tan expressed her distress, stating that the incident keeps replaying in her mind, leaving them feeling helpless.

Company Response and Ongoing Investigation

Following Tan’s Facebook post, Transtar reached out to her, informing her that they submitted footage to the police for investigation. Tan requested that the bus’s security cameras be checked, believing the driver should have seen them.

The police confirmed they were alerted to the incident at 7:30 PM. A 44-year-old man was arrested for a negligent act causing hurt, and investigations are ongoing. Transtar has yet to provide further comments.
