Heads Up: Road Closures Affecting Changi Village Drivers
Are you planning a late-night feast at Changi Village? If so, be prepared for potential traffic jams! Residents and drivers in the Loyang Industrial District should also be aware of some changes to their usual routes.
Temporary Road Closure Details
From 22 January 2019 to 31 December 2021, a section of Loyang Avenue will be closed for construction related to the Cross Island Line Loyang Station and Loyang Viaduct. This closure affects the stretch of road from Pasir Ris Drive 3 to Loyang Way, right near the Shell Petrol Station.
During this period, some drains along this stretch are either missing grates or cannot be covered, so extra caution is advised.
Future Construction Plans
Looking ahead, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced that another section of Pasir Ris Drive 1 will be closed from the third quarter of 2023 to the fourth quarter of 2028. This is necessary for the construction of the Cross Island Line Pasir Ris Station.
Alternative Routes for Motorists
To help ease the inconvenience, the LTA has recommended alternative routes for drivers and motorcyclists. Following these routes will ensure you reach your destination as quickly as possible. But why should you stick to these alternatives?
– **Efficiency**: These routes are designed to help you avoid the congested areas caused by the road closures.
– **Safety**: By using the suggested paths, you reduce the risk of accidents in construction zones.
Improving Connectivity in Changi
These infrastructure improvements are not just about detours; they aim to enhance connectivity in the Changi region. With the recent construction of a new viaduct, motorists can now travel directly from the Tampines Expressway to the Pan Island Expressway or Upper Changi roads. This will make the area more vibrant and accessible for both work and leisure.
