They were greeted by a staff member named Kenny, who informed them that Zhang’s mother could board for free due to a senior citizen promotion. This sweetened the deal even further, prompting them to proceed with the booking.
The Red Flags Emerge
Before making the payment, Zhang’s sister decided to do a quick online check to ensure the agency was legitimate. Unfortunately, after transferring the money, they were met with silence. Kenny failed to provide a receipt or the promised cruise tickets. Alarm bells rang when Zhang’s sister discovered that the email address given by the agency was fake and the listed addresses were non-existent.
Feeling cheated, Zhang requested a refund. Kenny agreed but said they would have to wait 21 days. When Zhang followed up, Kenny vanished without a trace.
