An employee from a Jurong East parlour confirmed they accept CDC vouchers but was vague about how many customers use them. A similar response came from a Hougang massage parlour.
Police Reports Filed After Unsavory Offers
In a recent investigation, a reporter from Today visited two massage parlours that accept CDC vouchers. During a standard massage, he was offered sexual services, which he declined. After leaving, he paid in cash and promptly filed police reports and notified the CDC.
CDC’s Commitment to Clean Up the Scheme
When asked about their monitoring process, the CDC explained that they guide merchants on the scheme’s rules before allowing them to participate. However, they are clear: any merchant found offering illicit services will be removed immediately. According to the CDC’s website, the vouchers cannot be used to purchase lottery products, petrol, diesel, alcohol, or cigarettes.
